Primarily responsible for operating stunner, scalder and picking equipment ensuring poultry exiting live hang processes through equipment correctly.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Monitor and adjust settings and maintain salt levels in stunner to ensure optimal performance Maintain correct temperature and water levels in scalder to ensure proper functioning Adjust pickers to remove feathers from poultry while minimizing broken wings Perform and document wing breakage checks, including live cages a minimum of three (3) times per week Monitor paw cutting/ picking system, adjust as necessary to ensure paws are cut Follow all safety initiatives, (i.
e.
wear appropriate PPE in area where mandatory) helping to maintain a zero accident culture Perform all work in compliance with company, regulatory bodies, animal welfare policies and guidelines and Federal, State and local legal requirements Perform additional relevant duties as assigned EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Bi-lingual ability preferred, but not required Ability to communicate in and comprehend English Basic computer and math skills SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory Lock Out Tag Out training / certification will be required if replacing picker fingers PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
